Hochman: Yards after the catch (YACs) separate Mizzou’s Luther Burden III from the pack

Yakety-yak, don’t talk back — Luther Burden III is one of the best receivers in all of college football, in part because of his YACs.

Four games in, the Mizzou phenom leads all receivers in Power Five conferences with 340 yards after the catch.

Even if Burden didn’t have a single YAC, and was tackled upon catching all of his passes this season, he still would have 164 receiving yards, more than any other Mizzou Tiger has with YACs.

But Burden’s ability to accelerate and elude would-be tacklers makes him, as teammate Cody Schrader described, “a human joystick.
